The Intrepid Gas is a stacked frame model with G10 frames and fin set. The engine is mounted to the frames with a total of 7 attach points making for a very solid arrangement. The pull start and muffler come with the Helicopter version of the Zenoah G26 engine, we also remove the bottom plate for you before shipping. Using the heli version means YOU don't have to remove the prop adapter, and it comes with the proper carb and air filter.
The Intrepid Gasser was the first to use the Zenoah G26 engine, and still the only one able to use the engine in it's STOCK form, NO modifications are necessary, and no having to substitute for a "lesser", smaller, engine. Modified engines from BH Hanson are available for an additional fee. Buy the Gas kit W/O engine and add the price of the Hanson engine. Any of the current offerings of modified engines CAN be used in the Intrepid, including 29 cc's AND 30 cc's!!
The self aligning clutch system means no need to dial indicate the clutch or any other part of the drive train in the helicopter, simply eyeball the clutch to fan hub relationship. The clutch liner is factory installed and machined to the correct inner dimension for proper engagement RPM.
Other features include the triple bearing block supporting the drive pinion and start shaft, 10mm fully hardened hollow mainshaft, which is the industry leader in durability, All aluminum head and blade grips are STOCK items NOT offered as an "Upgrade", all aluminum push-pull control system designed to eliminate any swashplate interaction through full range of travel, and fully ballraced.
Torque Tube drive with all aluminum tail gearbox is standard, again NOT an upgrade offered for an additional price. The heavy-duty tail pinion with a third bearing block and the elevator yoke also come standard.
A lexan canopy is included, with fibreglass canopies available as an option. If you order the fibreglass canopy with your kit, we give you full credit for the lexan one.
Other options available include constant driven tail system, and a push-pull system for the tail servo. If these options are ordered with your kit, we again give you credit for the unnecessary parts removed.

For those interested in scale applications we offer different gear ratios as well. Available drive pinions are 10,11,12,13,and 14 tooth to a 90 tooth main gear.
This model is available as a kit, but we can build it for you for an additional fee.
Recommended gas to oil mixture is 6 Oz. of fully synthetic oil to a gallon of 87 octane gasoline for a brand new engine. After 2 gallons of break in time, go down to 5 oz of oil per gallon.
For our overseas customers, different countries rate their gasoline differently, so your higher Octane rating MAY be the same as our 87 Octane.
